The Savages (US 2007) is a very realistic, never sappy or cliche drama about two neurotic, failed struggling intellectual siblings faced with the task of caring for their aging, estranged father while being preoccupied with their own vocational and relationship issues.
While its uncompromising realism at times makes the film border on the mundane, it finds lots of absurd humor in the situations the pair are thrust into, and the dynamic between the likably flawed characters. 7/10

Styrofoam matches "happy beats and sad lyrics", here sung by Ben Gibbard of Death Cab/Postal Service.
Since his greatest album his music has gotten progressively more poppy and kitschy, but this is still a show not to be missed: Sunday night @ Chelsea

My favorite ice cream in Vienna. Italian owners, open since 1964, ice cream made from fresh fruit from the market across the street.
It's been a season or two since I've been there, but I'd recommend the melon (cantaloupe) and After Eight flavors.
And get your cone with molten chocolate on top (which I remember being officially called "Negertüte" when I was a child...)

(Oddly enough upon seeing this I immediately remembered the Barks story this panel is taken from, as well as the official German text in the speech bubble. It's surely been ten years since I read it... must have made an impact. Apparently it's one of Erika Fuchs' most famous translations.)

Seriously? Is that just a very long-running banner, have those clowns made a comeback or does Google think I'm feeling nostalgic for 1999?
